Where We Work

Service Areas

Our office is in Bedford, Nova Scotia, and we've been renovating homes across the Halifax region since 2004. From peninsula century homes to newer subdivisions on both sides of the harbour, we know the housing stock here — because we live in it too.

Halifax

Peninsula & Mainland

Halifax is a city of two very different renovation challenges. On the peninsula — the South End, North End and around the universities — you're often working in century homes and heritage properties: plaster walls, balloon framing, original trim worth saving, and floor plans that were never designed around a modern kitchen. Those houses reward a contractor who slows down, opens things up carefully, and prices honestly for what might be behind the wall.

Out on mainland Halifax — Clayton Park, Fairview, Spryfield and the newer developments beyond — the work tends toward finished basements, kitchen and bathroom updates, additions and exterior renovations on homes built from the 1960s onward. Whichever side of the city you're on, we manage the permits, the trades and the schedule so you deal with one contractor from first drawing to final walkthrough.

Dartmouth

& Surrounding Areas

Dartmouth's housing stock is a genuine mix. Older neighbourhoods around downtown and the lakes hold plenty of solid mid-century homes with compartmentalised layouts, dated bathrooms and basements that were never properly finished — all of which respond well to a thoughtful renovation. Newer builds toward Portland Hills and Russell Lake bring a different set of projects: decks, garages, finished lower levels and kitchen upgrades.

We work across both. A 1960s split-level might need structural work to open the main floor; a newer home might just need a well-built deck that survives a Nova Scotia winter. Either way you get the same detailed, itemised quote up front and the same crew standards on site — fully insured, WCB in good standing, and tidy at the end of every day.

Bedford

Our Home Base

Bedford is where our office is, and it's the community we know best. The area's newer subdivisions — the developments climbing up from the Basin and out toward West Bedford — are typically well-built family homes where the opportunity is in the unfinished space and the finishing details: lower levels waiting to become family rooms or in-law suites, builder-grade kitchens ready for an upgrade, and ensuites that deserve a proper custom tiled shower.

Being based here means short travel times, easy site visits, and a reputation we can't afford to be casual about — a lot of our work in Bedford comes from neighbours talking to neighbours. If you'd like to walk through an idea in person, we're close by.

Sackville

Lower & Middle Sackville

Lower and Middle Sackville are family-subdivision country — split-entries, two-storeys and bungalows on generous lots, many of them now on their second or third family. Growing households here usually need the same things: more usable space, a kitchen that works for more than two people at once, and a second bathroom that isn't a compromise.

That makes Sackville a natural fit for the work we do most: finishing basements, adding bathrooms, building decks and garages, and taking on additions when the footprint has to grow. We'll tell you honestly whether an addition or a basement build-out is the better value for what you're trying to achieve.

Cole Harbour

& Eastern Passage

Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage are suburban family neighbourhoods, largely built out through the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Homes of that vintage are structurally sound but tend to show their age in the same places — original bathrooms, closed-off kitchens, tired siding and windows, and decks that have reached the end of their life.

Closer to the water in Eastern Passage, exterior work matters even more: salt air and wind are hard on cladding, trim and outdoor structures. We build with that in mind — proper footings, proper fasteners, and materials chosen for how they'll look in year ten rather than just year one.
